Children with HIV are especially susceptible to febrile seizures due to the HIV virus attacking parts of the brain. Some of the children we worked with had severe febrile seizures that left them paralyzed, blind, and unable to speak. Caring for children with HIV, especially those with special needs, poses a huge challenge for caregivers and families of children, coupled with economic concerns about discrimination regarding children's HIV status. In certain cases, LAP collaborates with the social service agency to evaluate the limitations and challenges that cause families to no longer be able to care for and meet the needs of their children. This situation of children and families often makes the LAP team feel helpless. Please pray and support so that children with special needs can get attention and assistance that can improve their quality of life. Even though they can't express their feelings, these children desperately need love and protection.
